After an entertaining high voltage rage on the Red Sea clash, Britain’s Anthony Joshua’s suffered a loss against Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk in Jeddah on Sunday. Usyk beat Joshua on a split points decision after he scheduled and retained his WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO world heavyweight boxing belts.

Notably, after the bout, Joshua was furious as he was seen throwing two of his opponent’s belts out of the ring and onto the floor at the end. He then marched towards his dressing room before rushing back to shake hands with Usyk. Joshua also embraced his opponent after this much-awaited clash.

Joshua during this also took the mic and called out his critics before praising Oleksandr Usyk for his incredible vigour in extremely difficult circumstances.


"I was studying Ukraine and all the champions from your amazing country. I’ve never been there. What’s happening there, I don’t know but it’s not nice. For Usyk to be champion, under those circumstances, please raise your hands," he said.


Oleksandr Usyk was was complimentary about Joshua and described this bout as a generational fight which will be remembered for ages. He further thanked everyone for their support and dedicated this win to his family and country. 


"This is already history. Many generations are going to watch this fight, especially the round when someone tried to beat me hard. But I stood up to it and turned it in a different way. I devote this victory to my country, to my family, to my team, to all the military defending this country," the 35-year-old Usyk said.
