In match number three of Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025, the Gujarat Giants are taking on UP Warriorz at the newly-constructed Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. For the unversed, GG skipper Ashleigh Garnder won the toss and opted to field first, thus putting the Warriorz to put runs on the board.
Taking the field, the Giants dismissed the two openers early. Whle they restricted the Warriorz in the middle overs, their skipper Ashleigh Gardner pulled off a spectacular catch to dismiss the newly-appointed Warriorz skipper, Deepti Sharma. The incident unfolded in the 15th over of the UP Warriorz innings.

On the fifth delivery of the 15th over, which was being bowled by Priya Mishra, Deepti Sharma opted to got for a big shot, but skewed off the toe-crushing delivery. Gardner, who was stationed at mid-off, ran and dived full length to her right to complete a stunning catch and give Priya Mishra her third wicket.

Speaking of Deepti Sharma, the Indian cricketer once again departed having scored just 39 runs off 27 deliveries. The UP Warriorz registered the lowest total (143/9) of the season so far with the skipper scoring the most runs for her side. For the GG, Priya Mishra starred with the ball, picking three wickets in her four overs, Deandra Dottin and skipper Ashleigh Gardner picked two wickets each.
