Nigeria forward Asisat Oshoala took off her t-shirt while celebrating the third goal of her team against Australia in the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Oshoala scored the third goal against the co-hosts to seal her team’s 3-2 victory. With her goal for her side, Oshoala became the first Nigerian to score in three different editions of the FIFA World Cup. After her goal, the Nigerian striker took her celebrations to the next level and removed her jersey.

Oshoala’s goal came in the 72nd minute, when she swooped a defensive mix-up, sneaked a right foot inside the near post, and scored the goal that sealed the victory for her team. The 28-year-old went a little wild in her celebrations, went on the sideline, and removed her jersey. However, she was later penalized with a Yellow Card for the same.

Australia dominated the game throughout the first half and had 10 shots on goal, but the game was tied 1-1 during halftime. Uchenna Kanu scored Nigeria’s first goal seconds before halftime and was replaced by Oshoala. During the 65th minute, Osinachi Ohale put the Super Falcons ahead. 

Australians managed to get one back through Alanna Kennedy in the 10th minute of the stoppage time, but the Nigerians managed to get the victory. The win moved the winners to the top of Group B, along with Canada, with each team having four points.
