India is still going strong after three quick dismissals in Session 1 of Day 1, followed by a few more in the third session. The Men in blue started Day 2 with the score of 278/6, on the brilliant knock of Shreyas Iyer. However, the batter could not continue his Day 1 brilliance as he was bowled by Ebadot Hossain in the 98 th over of first inning.
After this R Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav steadied the India innings as they continue to score some important runs for the side. During the Session 1 of Day 2, an incident occurred which led to a five-run increase in the India total. The Men in Blue were awarded five penalty runs after the Bangladesh fielder’s throw hit the helmet of the wicketkeeper.

Yasir Ali, the third man who collected the ball after R Ashwin guided the spinner, threw it towards the wicketkeeper but the ball hit the helmet which was kept on the ground.
According to ICC’s rule, penalty runs are awarded to the team batting if the ball is obstructed by the fielding team without any help of a player.
