Manchester City striker Erling Haaland recently had an unexpected meeting with Jisoo, the lead vocalist of the K-pop group BLACKPINK. The two stars crossed paths at a charity event in Seoul, where they exchanged gifts and chatted for a while, and now the teaser video of a full interview with Halaand has dropped, in which the pop star taught the striker some Korean.
During their conversation, Jisoo decided to teach Haaland some Korean words and phrases that he could use on and off the pitch. Haaland tried his best to repeat after Jisoo, and surprisingly, he spoke them almost perfectly.
Jisoo said, “There is a phrase that many Haaland and Manchester City fans in Korea say, which is, ‘Haaland is on fire’. Erling Haaland replied in Korean, clearly pronouncing "Haaland is on fire," earning Jisoo's praise. In Korea, this expression is used to describe someone who is extremely stylish. Jisoo, who is five years older than Haaland, then jokingly requested that the soccer player refers to her as her "older sister," or "Jisoo noona."
Jisoo was also seen teaching the Manchester City player the steps to her "Flower" dance challenge. The challenge has gone viral on Tik Tok since the song "FLOWER", Jisoo's solo debut single, was released on March 31.
The full interview has been released on Coupang Play, in which they talk about Haaland’s thoughts on his first visit to Korea , his connection with Hwang Hee-Chan, who played alongside him at Salzburg, achieving the treble (3 major cups in a season), and his experience at the final league victory celebration, among other things.
