As Rinku Singh hit the fifth and final six of the over, the Knight Riders’ team ran into the middle celebrating this incredible feat. Moments later, Chandrakant Pandit had an emotional moment with Singh, as the pair shared a hug.

Then later in the evening, Pandit gave a stirring speech commending the Uttar Pradesh batter in the dressing room and compared his knock to legendary performances by Ravi Shastri and Javed Miandad. Shashtri had once hit six sixes in an over against  Baroda’s Tilak Raj in the Ranji Trophy. While Miandad had smashed Indian pacer Chetan Sharma for two back-to-back sixes in Sharjah.

In a video shared by KKR’s Twitter account, Chandrakant Pandit said, “In 43 years of my cricket career, being coach, playing cricket, first-class cricket and international, I've previously seen two innings. One is Ravi Shastri scoring six sixes in the Ranji Trophy, and the second was last ball sixes by Javed Miandad in Dubai (Sharjah) and after that, I'm seeing you (Rinku).”

Talking about the game, Gujarat Titans were the favourites to win this game for the majority of the time. With the bat, Vijay Shankar starred for the defending champions, scoring 63 runs in 24 balls. Then KKR saw Ventakesh Iyer take up the responsibility in the second and put up an incredible 83 in 40 balls. But the Titans came back into the fixture with Rashid Khan’s hattrick in the 17th over before  Rinku Singh finished off the game in style.
