Former West Indies batter Chris Gayle appeared in one of the IPL 2024 commentary boxes, where he analysed Mumbai Indians’ squad in Hindi. Gayle, regarded as one of the greatest T20I batters ever, is one of the commentators in the 17th edition of the cash-rich tournaments. The league that features the best cricketing talent from across the world kicked off on March 22, with Chennai Super Kings engaging in a thrilling battle against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

On day 3 of the tournament, Mumbai Indians and 2022 winners Gujarat Titans will play their respective season openers on March 24, Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. On March 24, Rajasthan Royals will host Lucknow Super Giants at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur in the noon game. Later, Ahmedabad will have home favourites Gujarat Titans clashing against Mumbai Indians. The teams will be led by Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya.
