Al-Nassr settled for a 1-1 draw against the Egyptian side Zamalek, but it was looking grim as they were a goal down until the 87th minute when Cristiano Ronaldo came to the rescue and scored an equaliser.  Cristiano Ronaldo scored his second goal of the season to help Al-Nassr equalize against Zamalek in the Arab Club Champions Cup group stage on Thursday and book their quarterfinals berth.

Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr from Manchester United last year, has been regularly contributing to the team, but the side finished second in the Saudi Pro League and went trophy-less. Ronaldo has continued from last season, scoring his first goal of the season with a trademark header against Monastir and repeating the same against Zamalek.

The Portuguese star headed in a cross from Ghislain Konan in the 87th minute to cancel out Ahmed Sayed’s opener for the Egyptian side. Ronaldo scored his 91st equaliser in his career and proved why he is considered one of the most clutch players of all time. The result leaves Al Nassr in second place in Group C with five points as they edged out Zamalek by just one point to finish third.

Al-Nassr will hope that Ronaldo can continue his scoring streak and lead them to their first-ever Arab Club Champions Cup title. The Saudi club has never won the competition, which was founded in 1981 and has been won by 19 clubs.
