Just a day after announcing retirement from one-day internationals, Australian opener David Warner was in news after he lost his baggy green ahead of the final Test in Sydney. The six-time world champions will host the Men in Green in the final Test, starting January 3.

Taking to social media, Warner shared a heartfelt message and pleaded to return his lost baggy green. “Inside this backpack was my Baggy Green. It’s sentimental to me. It’s something I’d love to have in my hands walking out there this week. If it’s the backpack you really wanted, I have a spare one here. You won’t get into trouble. Please reach out to Cricket Australia or myself via my social media,” Warner said in a video post.

He further added and vouched that he will give the cap if it is handed safely. “I’m happy to give this to you if you return my Baggy Green,” he added calling his last Test a the “last resort”.

While speaking on the same, Warner further clarified that he had called Qantas to check the camera and did not find anyone open the bags.

Speaking ahead of the farewell Test, Warner called off his curtains in ODI cricket. “I’m definitely retiring from one-day cricket as well. That was something that I had aid through the World Cup, get through that, and winning it in India, I think that’s a massive achievement,” he said. However, the 37-year-old kept himself open for the 2025 Champions Trophy.
