Orlando Magic legend Dwight Howard achieved a new feat in his career as he was inducted into the Hall of Fame by his team. With this, Howard also became the 13th individual in NBA to get recognised with the prestigious title. He got this honor in a ceremony ahead of Magic’s much-awaited NBA fixture against the LA Lakers at Kia Center on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
Left overwhelmed with the honour and gratitude, Dwight Howard couldn’t control his emotions and broke down in tears while acknowledging his parents during the ceremony. “First, I wanna start by thanking my parents, my mom, my dad,” he said during the ceremony. Right after this, Howard got emotional and took a moment before continuing his speech. "I am overwhelmed with gratitude and emotion, reflecting on my journey with the Orlando Magic. It brings back a flood of of memories, challenges, triumphs, and more importantly, the people who stood by me throughout,” Howard further said.

Dwight Howard also shared a post on his social media after getting inducting into Hall of Fame by Orlando Magic. He has been one of the biggest players for Orlando, averaging at 18.4 points, 13 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks in 621 career regular season games in nine season for the franchise.
“Those tears today were tears of JOY” Howard wrote on his X post. “Tears for that 10 year old that said he was going to be the #1 pick in the NBA draft! Tears for the 18 year old kid that was handed the keys to a franchise and a city. Tears for the ups & downs on this long journey I had in the NBA. Everything comes full circle and I want to thank the Magic again for inducting me into the Orlando Magic HOF,” he further wrote.
