The Perth Scorchers registered a dominant 61-run victory over the Melbourne Stars at the Junction Oval in Melbourne. The defending champions posted a 229-run total in the first innings and then bundled out the Stars for 168. But in the second innings, former South African captain Faf du Plessis produced the one true highlight of the game on the boundary line.
On the third ball of the 11th over, Faf was fielding at the long on where he made an amazing mid-air diving attempt to save four runs for his team. After this brilliant save, the Scorchers tightened their hold on the game by taking wickets at regular intervals.

Taking off from here, wicketkeeper Josh Inglis put on an absolute show as he smashed 74 runs in just 33 balls.
Adding a cherry on top, Aaron Hardie also played a brilliant cameo of 30 in just 17 balls. The right-arm pacer hit one four and three sixes at a strike rate of 176.47. Then in the second innings, the Perth bowlers started off on a strong note as they took two wickets in the first four overs.
