Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Faf du Plessis requested fans to read former cricketer Shane Watson’s book. In a video posted on Watson’s social media, Du Plessis could be seen recommending the book to Indian cricketers and fans. Notably, the South African international is currently leading the Bengaluru-based franchise in the ongoing tournament. In their last clash, RCB locked horns with KKR and faced a seven-wicket loss.

After the match, the 39-year-old batter could be seen talking about Watson’s book ‘The Winner’s Mindset’. In the video posted by the former Australia cricketer, Faf said that he has received great help from the book. The RCB skipper said, “I have read this book, very lucky to be the first to have read it and also experience all the knowledge that’s gone in there. It’s an amazing book and I know cricketers in India will get so much information from this.”

He added, “The mental game of cricket doesn’t get talked about a lot and I think Watto has found a very simple way to explain it to sportsmen.  It's a must-read, it's an amazing amazing book.” Watson, who regarded as one of the greatest white-ball all-rounders in men’s cricket, recently released his book, where he talked about his mind game, especially when he helped Chennai Super Kings lift the trophy in 2018, by beating SunRisers Hyderabad in the final.

In the book, the cricketer-turned-commentator talks about his mental journey and shares the lessons he learned during his cricketing career. With the book, Watson, or Watto, wants to pass on the knowledge to the younger generation.
