After winning the three-match T20I series against Australia, Team India landed in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala on Monday for their next assignment against the Proteas. The first of the three T20Is against South Africa will be played at the Greenfield International Stadium on September 28.

While there is hardly any doubt over the massive fan following of the Indian cricket fans in and outside the country, the same was evident when players reached Thiruvananthapuram.

Indian players like Rohit Sharma, Yuzvendra Chahal, and R Ashwin shared clips of a huge crowd gathered outside the airport for the team. However, most of the fans were seen chanting the name of India's seasoned wicketkeeper batter Sanju Samson, who is currently not part of the squad.

Notably, demand for the inclusion of Sanju Samson in the squad keeps on floating on social media via his fans from time to time.

Earlier, reports were floating around claiming that Sanju Samson's fans are planning to stage a protest at the stadium against the exclusion of the wicket-keeper batter from the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. While Team India is locking horns with South African cricket team in the three-match T20I series, Sanju Samson will be leading India A against New Zealand.

The 27-year-old played an unbeaten knock of 29 runs as India defeated the Kiwis in front of a vociferous crowd at Chepauk. The batter was greeted by a huge roar by the Chennai crowd with loud chants of "Sanju, Sanju".

The bilateral contest between India and South Africa will start on September 28 (Wednesday), followed by second and third T20 international on October 2 and 4. Both the teams will also play three 50-over games starting on October 6 at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, in Lucknow.
