The first El Clasico of the 2022/23 season was an action-packed match. It got off to a brilliant start as Uruguayan winger Fede Valverde doubled the lead for the defending La Liga Champions Real Madrid. Los Blancos maintained a 2-0 lead at half-time before winning the match 3-1.
Real Madrid soaked on the pressure and launched an incredible counterattack by Vinicus Jr. did well to keep the ball. He passed the ball to Ferland Mendy on the overlap. The Frenchman found Valverde in space and set him up for the shot. Valverde had got into shape and drilled the ball in the bottom-left corner with a deadly shot.
