Royal Challengers Bengaluru star Glenn Maxwell was seen imitating star batter Virat Kohli and captain Faf Du Plessis during their net practice session. The Bengaluru-based franchise arrived in Chennai for the IPL 2024 season opener, where they will clash against reigning champions Chennai Super Kings on March 22, Friday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Ahead of the high-octane clash, the Australian all-rounder was seen taking part in the net session.
In a video posted by the official handle of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, fans got a sneak peek into the net session of the team. In the nets, former captain and batting wizard Virat Kohli and captain Faf Du Plessis were spotted engaging in practicing shots and Maxwell was positioned right behind him and was seen replicating Kohli’s shots. Not only this but Maxwell was also seen replicating Kohli’s glove adjustment and giving verbal encouragement to the batter.
Later, he was also joined by teammate Mohammed Siraj and the two started imitating the latter’s glove adjustment while attempting a catch.
RCB Men’s team aims to mirror WPL 2024 triumph
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru Men’s team would aim to replicate the heroics of their women’s team in the Women’s Premier League 2024. The Smriti Mandhana-led side defeated Delhi Capitals in the final clash of the tournament and became the second winner of the coveted title. The Faf Du Plessis-led side which features the likes of Kohli, Maxwell, Cameron Green, Rajat Patidar, and a lot more, would look forward to dominating their rivals with their batting prowess.
The bowling unit is led by Mohammed Siraj and includes names like Lockie Ferguson, Reece Topley, Alzarri Joseph, and Akash Deep. The tournament will also see Virat Kohli making his comeback after the birth of his son Akaay in February.
