Amid his Real Madrid transfer rumours, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star forward Kylian Mbappe has announced his departure from the French champions at the end of the season in an almost 4-minute-long video message. After seven years with PSG and featuring in 306 matches, Mbappe scored 255 goals and made 108 assists across all competitions, the 25-year-old became the all-time top scorer for the French giants.
The rumours around Mbappe's potential move to Spanish giants Real Madrid have been growing since February. The PSG forward's recent announcement to leave the club in the summer intensified the speculations over his future.
On Friday, May 10, Kylian Mbappe took to his official X handle and posted a video message announcing his PSG exit at the end of the season. Mbappe said, "I wanted to speak to you. I've always said that I would speak with you when the time comes and so I wanted to announce to you all that it's my last year at Paris Saint-Germain. I will not extend and the adventure will come to an end in a few weeks. I will play my last game at Parc des Princes on Sunday.
"It's a lot of emotions, many years I had the chance and the great honour to be a member of the biggest French club, one of the best in the world."
While talking about the challenges he faced and apologising for the mistakes he made during his time at PSG, Mbappe thanked his teammates, coaches, sports directors, and PSG staff.
