Los Angeles Lakers icon LeBron James declined to respond to questions if the game against the Denver Nuggets was his last with the Lakers. The team crashed out of the NBA playoffs on Monday, after facing a 106-108 victory and registered a 4-1 series triumph. LeBron James finished his 21st season with 30 points, 11 assists, 9 rebounds, and 4 steals and said that his focus will shift to his family.
He also said that he will focus on training camp for his national side USA. After the game, he was asked what would be his approach moving forward in his 22nd season, to which he said, "I don't have an answer ... to be honest. I haven't given it much thought.” He added that he would discuss with his agent, Rich Paul, and his family to evaluate what would be the best for his career. However, when the media asked if the Monday game could be his last game with the Lakers, he said, “I am not going to answer that.”
They are hell of a team: Lakers coach Darvin Ham after the defeat
LA Lakers’ coach Darvin Ham spoke about their loss and lauded the opponents for their game. He said, “It’s one of those games man, they are hell of a team. They are defending champs for a reason, I have been saying it the entire year, and the entire series, they know how to gut out win, they have been there before. But I couldn’t be prouder of our group. Our guys showed a lot of guts, a lot of character, and resilience to continue to fight.”
He added, “But you know, the intangibles, they got us again. We missed some free throws and gave up some second-chance points late. It is what it is. You just got to learn from it and grow and comeback better mentally, spiritually and physically.”
