Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni was seen losing his cool at CSK pacer  Matheesha Pathirana at the end of the 16th over. After a poor start with the ball, Chennai managed to get in control of the match after the 12-over mark. Tightening the screws,  Pathirana had given away just seven runs his over and came to deliver the final ball.

The Sri Lankan then sent out a beaming full-ball with his slingy action to which Rajasthan's  Dhruv Jurel made room, but failed to reach out to drive. The ball went back to Dhoni, who immediately threw back the ball intending to get a run out at the non-striker's end. But with  Pathirana not present at the non-striker's stumps, Dhoni lost his cool and angrily reacted to the Sri Lankan pacer's positioning after his delivery.

With this mishap, Chennai Super Kings capped off a poor bowling display and conceded the first 200+ score in Jaipur. Then with the bat, the four-time champions continued their struggles and had to settle for a 32-run loss.

Addressing the loss, MS Dhoni talked about how the runs conceded from boundaries were a big reason for the loss. He said,  "It (target) was quite a bit above par. The reason was the first six overs, gave too many runs, but at the same time, the pitch was best to bat on at that time. Even when they were finishing the edges kept going for boundaries. They got a par+ score and we were not able to stop the runs. I felt his (Pathirana) bowling was very good, not that he bowled badly. The scorecard doesn't reflect how well he bowled."
