July 20 was a memorable occasion for Mukesh Kumar as he earned his maiden Test cap for India. He is the 308th cricketer to represent the Men in Blue and was included in the first team squad after Shardul Thakur was injured and thus unable to participate in the game. His debut came in the second Test during the series against West Indies in Trinidad’s Queen’s Park Oval. In a video, shared by the BCCI on Twitter, Kumar can be seen making an emotional phone call to his mother to share his happiness following the debut.
