The clash between Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators on Monday evening proved to be a rollercoaster with so many starts and pauses in between. While Sultans lost their best player exceedingly early in the innings, Shan Masood played a gem of innings to help them reach a par total. On the other hand, Quetta Gladiators' innings witnessed so many hiccups in the run chase with wickets tumbling. Nonetheless, Ben Duckett and Iftikhar Ahmed played some good shots to keep Gladiators in the hunt.

The match went down to the last over with 8 runs required off the last six balls. David Willey was given the responsibility to finish the game for Sultans with two wickets required. Willey put in all his experience and did not concede a single run on the first two deliveries. On the third one, Naseem Shah managed a single and brought Tanvir back on strike.

But David Willey was right on the money as he dismissed the batter off a short-pitch delivery. The equation came down to 7 runs required off 2 balls for Gladiators and one wicket in 2 balls for Sultans. Willey banged in a short ball once again, the batter played a pull shot again and the result was caught wicket again. But this time the catch was not easy with the ball almost clearing the ropes. However, Tim David made it look so simple with his brilliant effort on the ropes as he plucked the ball out of air inches close to the cushions. He lost his balance in the process and went over the line, but David made sure that he took the ball cleanly.
