New Zealand's all-rounder Mitchell Santner showed his brilliance in the field by taking a stunning catch to dismiss UAE's middle-order batsman Asif Khan in the first T20I of the three-match series on Thursday.
The incident happened in the 7th over of UAE's chase of 156, when Khan tried to defend a short ball from the left-arm spinner. However, the ball lobbed towards the right of Santner, who leaped and took an amazing catch with one hand. Khan became the third wicket to fall for the UAE, who were left struggling at 62 for 3 at that stage.

Santner's catch was one of the highlights of New Zealand's 19-run victory over UAE, which gave them a 1-0 lead in the series. Tim Seifert's explosive knock of 55 off 34 and Tim Southee's crafty five-wicket haul helped New Zealand scrape to victory in the T20I series opener against the UAE in Dubai. Rachin Ravindra and Cole McConchie's cameos were also crucial to New Zealand's victory on a challenging, two-paced track.
Before Jimmy Neesham caught him holing out in the 15th over, 18-year-old Aryansh Sharma made a spectacular half-century on his T20I debut and kept UAE in the game. After his dismissal, UAE needed to score 41 runs in 30 balls and had four wickets in hand, but Southee and co put it beyond their reach and bowled them out for 136.
