NBA MVP Joel Embiid got married on Saturday afternoon at a ceremony in Southampton. He married his long time partner Anne De Paula, whom he has been in a relationship with since 2018. In a video going viral on Twitter, the 76ers star is seen dancing with De Paula while Brian McKnight performs a rendition of his song ‘Back At One’.

The video, which was well received by supportive fans of Embiid, shows the NBA star slow dancing with his wife before embracing her in front of friends and family at his Hamptons wedding ceremony. American singer and multi-instrumentalist Brian McKnight was hired to perform at Embiid’s wedding and he gave a moving performance of his song ‘Back at One’.
De Paula is a Sports Illustrated model. The couple already have a son, who was born in 2020.
Embiid says open to winning Championship “anywhere”
Joel Embiid is still chasing an NBA title after the 76ers’ game seven defeat and elimination by the Celtics. The 29-year-old has said that he would be open to moving teams to win a championship.
He said, “I just want to win a championship, whatever it takes. I don’t know where that’s gonna be, whether it’s in Philly or anywhere else, I just want to have a chance to accomplish that.”
ESPN’s Zach Lowe also teased that a potential trade to the Knicks might be on the cards for the Cameroonian star player.
