On June 11, Sunday, Novak Djokovic made history as the first-ever men’s singles tennis player to win the Grand Slam title for the record 23rd time. The Serb achieved this groundbreaking feat after defeating Casper Ruud of Norway in straight sets on clay at the Roland Garros. After the 36-year-old tennis legend won the French Open, his first training video on the court at four years of age has gone viral on social media once again.

It was on a Sunday afternoon at the Court Phillipe Chatrier, where Novak Djokovic had history on the line in the French Open final, the chance to go past Rafael Nadal, who had also won 22 Grand Slam titles. Novak didn’t start the match well as Casper Ruud raced to a 3-0 lead in the first set, but the Serb came back strongly to win it by 7-6 in the tie-break.

During the second set, we saw the best of Djokovic on the court, who started to assert his dominance on Ruud to take the second set by 6-3. The third set was a very close affair, but the Serbian tennis legend stayed in it right throughout. He broke the serve of the Norwegian player in the latter stages of the third set to eventually serve out the match with a 7-5 margin.

Shortly after the French Open victory, a video of young Novak Djokovic on a tennis court started to get insane traction. The fans started to reminisce about how the Serbian sporting icon started his journey and how he is destiny’s child.

In the post-match, the three-time French Open winner talked about how important this year’s final at Roland Garros was. He said, "I knew that going into the tournament, going into the match, especially today, that there is history on the line. But I try to focus my attention and my thoughts into preparing for this match in the best way possible to win like any other match."

"I also am aware that even though I don't like to think about the age or age is just a number, it sounds like a cliché, but I really feel age is just a number in my case," Novak Djokovic talked about winning more than 10 Grand Slams after turning 30 years of age.
