In an old video from the French Open quarterfinal between Carlos Alcaraz and Stefano Tsitsipas, a commentator was seen comparing his game play style to that of Virat Kohli in cricket and Michael Jordan in basketball.  As soon as Alcaraz outsmarted Tsitsipas with a slice shot, the commentator said, “It’s like watching Virat Kohli playing cricket or Michael Jordan playing basketball,” as everyone in the stands cheered for the 20-year-old.

It is to be noted that Alcaraz overcame the former Wimbledon champion with a scoreline 6-1, 7-6 (6), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 to lift his maiden Wimbledon championship title as well as his second Grand Slam in a battle which lasted for four hours and 42 minutes.

Post his win, the Spaniard said, “beating Novak, winning Wimbledon, is something that I dreamed about since I started playing tennis. It’s the happiest moment of my life. I think it’s not going to change for a long time. It’s a dream come true for me, being a Wimbledon champion, something that I really wanted.”

The World No. 1 and the World No. 2 will now be seen in the US Open, which is set to take place from August 28 till September 10 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York.
