The series decider of the three-match ODI series between India and England is underway at Old Trafford in Manchester. England were once again asked to bat first by Indian captain Rohit Sharma who won the toss for the third time in a row. It was a mixed sort of start for both teams as India took two early wickets while England scored some quick runs in the first powerplay.

It remained an even battle with India bowlers managing to take wickets while England batters scored runs at a quick rate. Captain Jos Buttler was leading the charge for England after the top order failed to put up big partnerships. Buttler formed a 50-run partnership with Moeen Ali and a 49-run stand with Liam Livingstone. The wicketkeeper batter also got to his half-century in the process.

It seemed the England captain will take the contest away from India’s grasp as he was looking solid in the middle. However, Buttler’s resistance was finally broken by Hardik Pandya who was in the middle of a really good spell. The short-ball ploy once again worked for Pandya as he got Buttler caught in the deep while the batter tried to muscle a short-pitch delivery from Pandya.

However, more than Pandya, the wicket belonged to Ravindra Jadeja who took a stunning catch in the deep midwicket region. Jadeja covered a lot of ground to his left to complete the catch cleanly. After the batter mistimed the pull shot, the fielder who was stationed at the deep square leg boundary ran to his left and covered around 20-25 yards to grab the catch cleanly which was dying on him.

With this wicket of Buttler, Pandya completed four wickets in the match. The India all-rounder earlier dismissed Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, and Liam Livingstone.
