Rishabh Pant might not have been in the best of forms coming into the all-important Qualifier 1 in Dubai. However, the DC skipper certainly stepped up for his side when it mattered the most as he struck a crucial half-century, leading his side to a competitive total of 172/5 in 20 overs. The left-handed batsman scored 51* off 35 deliveries and provided a lot of entertainment to everyone. While he played some glorious shots, he produced two outrageous moments which stood out.

The first one of those happened in the 16th over of the contest when Shardul Thakur deceived him with a slower delivery. It was a loopy ball that took quite a lot of time to reach Pant who was already halfway through his shot. As it ended as a low full-toss, the 24-year-old checked his shot at the final moment and heaved it towards the mid-wicket region with one hand.

It was absolutely astonishing as the ball went above everyone to the stands for an 86 metre six, much to the shock of everyone on the field.

Pant loses his bat while attempting a big hit

In the 19th over, Pant produced another memorable moment for the fans as he attempted a huge hit off the bowling of Dwayne Bravo. Chasing a delivery which was pitched outside off stump, Pant gave it everything to his shot which resulted in him losing hold of his bat.

While the ball went towards the third-man region just short of a diving Deepak Chahar, the bat seemed to have landed somewhere near the leg-umpire, who eventually handed it back to Pany.
