LaLiga giants Barcelona have signed a season-long deal with the Italian club Lecce for French defender Samuel Umtiti. The World Cup winner received an incredible reception from the Serie A club fans on his arrival to Italy which made him emotional.
In order to register Jules Kounde in the squad for LaLiga 2022-23, the Catalan giants are trying out every possible option and Umtiti's loan move to Lecce helped Barcelona. Although, Barca still need to free up more space to register the 23-year-old Frenchman.
In a video posted on Twitter, Lecce fans welcomed Samuel Umtiti on his arrival to Italy which made the 28-year-old defender emotional before talking about getting back on track after spending more time on treatment table for last few seasons at Camp Nou.

Umtiti arrived to Barcelona in the summer of 2016 and battled with injuries throughout his time at the Spanish club. In 2018-19 season, the Frenchman made just 15 appearances in all competitions for the Catalan giants. Since then, Umtiti hasn't made more appearances in a single campaign and in the last season his only appearance was back in December against Osasuna.
