Sean O’Malley, the American MMA fighter, a star in the making in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), has done a great deed away from the sport. Recently, he was on camera, giving away a hefty sum to his mother and wife on the special occasion of Mother’s day.
Popularly known as “Sugar,” the nickname given by one of his MMA coaches in Montana early on in his career, S ean O’Malley posted a video on May 14 on his official YouTube channel. In it, he was seen surprising her mother and wife by taking them out for breakfast, getting their nails done in a salon, catering them with frozen yogurt, while giving them a reasonable sum of money from time to time, which eventually totaled to USD 100,000, each receiving USD 50,000.

The 28-year-old combat sports athlete did this gesture to honour her mother, who gave him birth, and her wife, who is the mother of Elena, their young daughter. It is well-known that O’Malley credits his success in the MMA scene to his mother and wife, who are two of the most important women in his life.
Meanwhile, on May 6 at the Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey, after Aljamain Sterling defeated his fellow American Henry Cejudo for the UFC Bantamweight Championship in the main event by a split decision, Sean O’Malley walked into the octagon to have a face-off with the champion and challenged him for a title fight later this summer.
Sugar earned the shot at the UFC Bantamweight Championship at UFC 280 last year after defeating former champ Petr Yan from Russia in a gruelling battle.
