Pakistani pacer Shaheen Afridi came up with a lovely celebration for his new-born son after taking a wicket in the ongoing Test match against Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. Shaheen and his wife Anesha are recently blessed with a son on August 24. With the couple welcoming their first child, Shaheen is currently with the Pakistan cricket team in the ongoing Bangladesh Test.
During the match, Afridi took the wicket of Hasan Mahmud and did a gesture of playing with the baby on a lap, dedicating his wicket to his new-born. Afridi bowled Hasan out for a duck as the Bangladesh batter failed to judge the swing and ended up edging the ball which was later received by the wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan. A few overs later, Afridi dismissed Mehidy Hasan Miraz who was batting on 77 runs off 179 balls. The left-arm pacer registered figures of 2/88 in his spell of 30 overs.
Mushfiqur Rahim shines as Bangladesh take 117-run lead in first innings against Pakistan
After Pakistan declared their innings on 448/6, Bangladesh replied by posting 565 runs taking a lead of 117 runs in the first innings. Shadnam Islam gave a good start by scoring 93(183) runs, while Monimul Haque also came up with a half-century. The star of the Bangladeshi batting was Mushfiqur Rahim who top scored with 191 runs off 341 balls hitting 22 fours and a maximum.
Later, Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz also contributed with the scores of 56 runs 77 runs respectively. Naseem Shah was the highest wicket taker taking three scalps, while Shaheen Afridi,, Mohammad Ali, and Khurram Shahzad took two-two wickets, and Saim Ayub. Coming to bat in the second innings, Pakistan already lost their first wicket in five runs.
