India are taking on Afghanistan in their second match of the ODI World Cup 2023. After losing the toss, the Rohit Sharma men were invited to field first and the Indian bowlers gave a good start as Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Ibrahim Zadran, followed by brilliant catch by Shardul Thakur to dismiss Rahmanullah Gurbaz.

Rohit Sharma called in birthday boy in Hardik Pandya to bowl the 13th over of the inning and after giving five runs in the first three balls, Hardik bowled a perfect short and quick with Gurbaz looking hurried to smash it over the boundary ropes. But who would know what will happen next.
Shardul, who was stationed near the deep backward square leg boundary took a fantastic catch. While the Indian all-rounder completed on the first attempt but just for a safe move, released it back in the air before walking in the field and completing the catch in the second attempt.
This brilliant piece of fielding by Shardul, put both Afghan opener back to the pavilion at the score of 22 and 21. Shardul thereafter dismissed Rahmat Shah in the next over after the latter opted for a DRS review.
