Mu mbai Indians batter Suryakumar Yadav sent a message to skipper Hardik Pandya after completing his fifty in the IPL 2024. Yadav completed his second half-century of the current season against the Punjab Kings. The Kings hosted Mumbai Indians in the 33rd clash of the season at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur on April 18, Thursday.
PBKS, led by Sam Curran in the absence of captain Shikhar Dhawan, invited the rivals to put the score on the board by winning the toss. Mumbai had a shaky start and lost their opener Ishan Kishan at just eight runs. However, Suryakumar Yadav, who hasn't been able to deliver consistent performances, came up with a 34-ball half-century. The veteran batter raised his bat and gave a thumbs-up to the MI skipper as if saying that the batter was there to handle it all.
The MI skipper also responded to the batter’s message by applauding his knock.
IPL tests you, when the game is not over it is not over: Hardik Pandya
MI skipper Hardik Pandya spoke about the Mumbai Indians’ inconsistent run in the 2024 season of the tournament and said that the league has always been unpredictable. During the toss, he said, We don't judge (our performances), couple of times we had the game in our grasp and didn't finish the game, IPL tests you, when the game is not over it is not over. We just take it game by game, go out there and give our 100 per cent. Every individual should commit to the team's goal and once we do that, the results will be seen.”
