Russian tennis player and winner of the recently concluded Swedish Open, Andrey Rublev was spotted playing around with fans in a nightclub in Bastad. He was also spotted doing pull ups using an elevated platform at a nighclub.

The Russian who is coming from a 7-6, 6-0 win over top seeded Norwegian Casper Ruud won his second title of the year and 14th title overall. The video of him doing pull-ups quickly went viral on Twitter, gaining more than 2000 likes and being shared by fans of tennis around the world. While some fans questioned the Russian, others reiterated that Rublev was known to be a hard-working and non-compromising athlete, and that he deserved to have a night off following a superb showing at the Swedish Open. 


In the video shared to Twitter, the tennis star appears to be competing against a fan in a friendly contest, and quickly showed why he’s a top athlete by completing several pull ups in good form. His compatriot isn’t able to quite match Rublev’s performance, and smiles and concedes his loss with Queen’s ‘We are the Champions’ being played in the background.


The tweet was captioned, “Andrey Rublev in Bastad last night. If you’re not celebrating doing pull-ups off the nightclub's elevated beam structure while 'We Are The Champions' plays in the background, did you really win the event?”



Rublev to face Bernabe Miralles in German Ope n next


Taking no time off after his Swedish Open triumph, Rublev is set to participate in the upcoming German Open in Hamburg. He will play Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles in the first round on Wednesday.


Rublev, who is ranked seventh in the world, will take on Miralles, who is ranked 54th. The Russian comes into the German Open in fine form, having won two titles this year already and making it to the quarter-finals of the Australia Open and Wimbledon.
