Rohit Sharma's status for BGT Test series versus Australia is reportedly uncertain
Amidst the impending departure of Indian players to Australia in two batches, there are reports of captain Rohit Sharma expected to not make the trip due to personal reasons. While the BCCI haven’t confirmed the development, it will be interesting to see whether Rohit Sharma is a part of the press conference alongside head coach Gautam Gambhir, to announce his status ahead of India’s lengthy tour to Australia, which will continue till early January 2025.
The first of the five Test matches of the series will be played at the Optus Stadium in Perth between India and Australia. The Indian cricket team have already played a Test match at this particular stadium, losing to the hosts by 146 runs despite the exceptional hundred from then captain Virat Kohli, but regardless, they went on to win the four-match series 2-1, their first such triumph on the Aussie soil in history of cricket.
