Vinicius Jr. came up with a hat-trick to help Real Madrid take down Borussia Dortmund with a sensational 5-2 win. On Tuesday, at the Santiago Bernabeu, Vinicius led the charge with a hat-trick to help the reigning champions secure all three points in the group stage. Dortmund led the game with two goals from Donyell Malen and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens in the half-hour, but that’s when Real Madrid made a remarkable comeback. 

Along with Vinicius Jr., Antonio Rudriger and Lucas Vazquez came up with goals to help the side register a victory. After Dortmund got a quick lead at the 30th minute mark in the rematch of last season’s final. The reigning champions came back quickly in the second half with Rudriger’s crucial haul during the hour mark before Vinicius levelled the score.

The momentum of the game shifted when Lucas Vazquez came up with a goal in the 83rd minute. A few minutes later, Vinicius sealed the deal with his goals in the 86th and 93rd minutes to record his first Champions League hat-trick. After the game, he told Movsitar Plus, “The key to our comeback was belief. We knew that with our fans behind us, anything was possible. Once we got the first goal, we felt unstoppable."

Vinicius got praise from head coach Carlo Ancelotti as he backed the winger to win the 2025 Ballon d’Or after his hat-trick. He said, "He's going to win the Ballon d'Or, not because of tonight, but because of last season. They are three goals that will serve him for the next Ballon d'Or.”
