R oyal Challengers Bengaluru and Indian cricketing great Virat Kohli pulled off a stunning run out to dismiss Punjab Kings' Shashank Singh in IPL 2024. After losing the toss, RCB were asked to bat first and then obliged with Virat Kohli continuing his stellar form to score 92 and help his side a massive total of 242 runs. The former RCB captain took 47 balls while hitting seven fours and six sixes.

Then in the second innings, Punjab also had a blistering start with Jonny Bairstow and Rilee Rossouw before Singh joined the party and got the Kings cruising through the middle overs. But in the 14th over, Sam Curran tapped the ball towards mid-wicket and then went for two which left his partner struggling to complete the second run.

Kohli brings out Gill's celebrating after running out Shashank Singh

Charging from deep mid-wicket, Kohli zoomed forward and gathered the ball in a jiffy before completing a direct hit to get his team back into the game. After this wicket, Kohli bowed his cap and imitated the celebration of his India teammate Shubman Gill.

Talking about his performance with the bat, Virat Kohli said,  "Was important for me to keep up the strike rate right through (laughs). I was just focused on taking the momentum forward. There was a tricky phase when Rajat got out, and there was a break for rain and hail. We had a bit of stop of momentum. Had to rebuild for 8-10 balls. Once the base was set and Cam got a few boundaries away, I thought I had to go again."

"Surface was pretty dry underneath, and there was some grass coverage as well. If you saw Faf and me got done by lack of pace off the pitch. There was a two-paced feel with the new ball, which I think is a great opportunities for our bowlers to make early inroads and exploit that swing out there. We thought anything over 230 would be a good total here. That was the only mindset. That was a hell of an over from Harshal in the last over otherwise we would've been 250-plus."
