The 16th edition of the Asia Cup is just round the corner, and all the teams have pulled up their socks for their respective clashes in the tournament. In the tournament set to commence on August 30, with a game between Pakistan and Nepal, India will begin their campaign by taking on Pakistan in a highly anticipated clash in Kandy, Sri Lanka on September 2.
Ahead of their encounter with the arch-rivals, the Indian cricketers were seen sweating it out in a practice camp on August 27, Sunday. F ormer India skipper Virat Kohli was spotted batting with the star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja in nets during a training and practice camp in Alur, Bengaluru.
Talking of the forthcoming tournament, Asia Cup 2023, the Asia Cup will see a return of the limited-over format because of the upcoming ODI World Cup, which will be hosted in India later this year. It will have two groups, with three teams each who will square off against each other in a single round-robin format. One team will be knocked out of the competition after the group stage, and the remaining teams will lock horns in the Super Four.
In addition to this, the Asia Cup-bound players underwent routine fitness tests and the mandatory yo-yo test. While the ex-Indian captain Virat Kohli scored 17.2 in the test, Shubman Gill reportedly scored 18.7 in it.
