During the sixth match of the World Championship of Legends 2024, the fans witnessed Yuvraj Singh hit a vintage six over deep mid-wicket region at the Edgbaston in Birmingham. The 42-year-old played an important role for the India Champions posting a massive score of 229/5, which they successfully defended against the West Indies Champions by 27 runs on DLS method.

After the West Indies Champions captain, Chris Gayle, won the toss in overcast conditions, and decided to field first. In the first over, Samuel Badree sent Naman Ojha back into the pavilion without troubling the scorers, to give the best possible start to his team.

But then, the entire innings firmly belonged to the India Champions, starting with a 63-run stand for the second wicket between Robin Uthappa (43 off 18) and Suresh Raina (19 off 12). After both these two batters lost their wickets in back-to-back overs, Yuvraj Singh and Gurkeerat Singh Mann took control of the innings.

Yuvraj Singh scored 38 off 25 with three fours and two maximums, one against Suliemann Benn when he carted him to the deep mid-wicket region with a calypso style shot on one leg. Gurkeerat Singh Mann was top scorer for the India Champions, who got 86 off just 42 with six fours and seven maximums.

The West Indies Champions had their task cut out, chasing 230 runs against a very decent India Champions bowling attack. Dhawal Kulkarni removed Dwayne Smith on 14 off 11 with three fours, giving his team the first breakthrough of the evening.

Shortly after, the heavens opened up at the Edgbaston in Birmingham, and the result of the match was decided on the DLS method. Since the West Indies Champions were just 31/1 in 5.3 overs with Chris Gayle at the crease on 14 off 17, alongside Chadwick Walton on 1 off 5, they lost the match by 27 runs against the India Champions.
