MS Dhoni, the former Indian captain, is still a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL), one of the most premier T20 franchise tournaments in the world, at the age of 43 years old. But, since its the twilight of MS Dhoni’s professional cricket career, there might not be much time before he calls it quits on his time with Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, but for his fans, there is a new lease of life in regards to seeing him play some cricket afterwards, if the words of the founder and chairman of T10 Global Sports, Shaji Ul Mulk, become prophetic.

According to Shaji Ul Mulk, he expects MS Dhoni to play some T10 cricket since many of the retired players from India and abroad have made the same plunge already. The likes of Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, Chris Gayle, Robin Uthappa, David Warner, and many others have played in many different T10 leagues all over the world recently, which is why the belief in Shaji Ul Mulk’s word about MS Dhoni pushing himself to be a part of newest version of cricket in the near future, couldn’t be understated.

We can expect MS Dhoni to be playing T10 when he makes up his mind: Shaji Ul Mulk

With the deadline for the Chennai Super Kings to pick their players to retain ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, there have been rumours around MS Dhoni potentially not making himself available for the tournament due to his age and the recurring knee issue in particular. Amidst all of this, T10 Global Sports official Shaji Ul Mulk, spoke about how the newest format in cricket is opening doors for retired pro cricketers to prolong their careers.

He also addressed the future of MS Dhoni in regards to T10 and said, as per PTI, “I think outside of the top level of international cricketers playing, current India internationals are not allowed to play outside of the Indian Premier League. The recently retired players, almost all the big names of India, have come to play T10. So yes, we can expect MS Dhoni to be playing T10 when he makes up his mind.”

One of the biggest leagues in T10 cricket, called the Abu Dhabi T10, will be played from November 21 to December 2, with 10 franchises, including two new ones, making the eighth season of the tournament its biggest yet. It will feature 179 international players from all over the world, with its CEO Matthew Boucher believing that the T10 format can take off globally soon enough.
