On November 24, Gujarat Titans (GT) secured the services of Jos Buttler for a INR 15.75 Crore contract in the IPL 2025 mega auction at the Abady Al Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The 34-year-old, who captains England in limited overs cricket, is one of the most feared batters at the top order of the in the IPL and T20I cricket in the last few years, and he got picked up by Gujarat Titans for the 2025 edition of the league, which brought the social media platform on glued as Rajasthan Royals (RR) fans thanked him for his time at the franchise.
Jos Buttler made his arrival to the IPL in 2016 in the Mumbai Indians (MI) colours, scoring more than 250 runs across two seasons before joining Rajasthan Royals. From the summer of 2018 till his release ahead of the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction, Jos Buttler was the heart and soul of RR, batting consistently well for seven straight seasons at the top of the order, churning out runs for fun.
In his 107 appearances in the IPL, Jos Buttler has scored 3582 runs at an average of 38.10 and a strike-rate of 147.52 with seven hundreds, all coming for Rajasthan Royals. Out of his 19 fifties in the IPL career, just one has come for Mumbai Indians in the 2017 season, but he ended up winning the coveted trophy for the first-time ever before his bumper season with the bat for RR in 2022, yielding 863 runs in 17 appearances with four hundreds.
