The Rohit Sharma-led Team India are hosting England in the five-match Test series at home. After bundling out the Ben Stokes-led England for 145 runs, the Men in Blue put up 40 runs at Stumps on Day 3 as they continued their run chase of 192 runs. The WPL 2024 season had a great start with all five franchises playing a game each.

WPL 2024: UP Warriorz vs Delhi Capitals Women

Alyssa Healy-led UP Warriorz will take on Meg Lanning’s Delhi Capitals Women at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The match is scheduled to commence at 7:30 p.m. IST. Both teams lost their opening matches in the WPL 2024. While the DC Women lost to the reigning champions MI Women, the UP Warriorz lost to RCB Women. 

PSL 2024: Islamabad United vs Peshawar Zalmi

Shadab Khan-led Islamabad United will host the Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi in match 13 of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024. The match is scheduled to commence at 7:30 p.m. IST at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Both the teams are coming off contrasting results. While the Peshawar Zalmi are coming on the back of a win, the Islamabad United lost to Quetta Gladiators in their previous fixture.

Harmanpreet Kaur carries MI-W to comfortable five-wicket win over Gujarat

The Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians women registered their second of the WPL 2024 after beating the Gujarat Giants by five wickets. MI restricted Gujarat to 126-9 in their 20 overs with Amelia Kerr picking up a four-fer. Then with the bat, Kaur scored a stunning 46 to clinch the game in the 18th over and register a five-wicket win.

NZ to send security delegation to PAK before T20I series: Reports

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) are reportedly going to send its security delegation to Pakistan ahead of the five-match T20I series, scheduled for April this year. This will be a reciprocal visit from the New Zealand team to Pakistan after hosting them earlier this year for five T20I matches, which they won by a 4-1 margin.

Virender Sehwag issues clarification after criticism over post on Dhruv Jurel

Virender Sehwag appreciated Dhruv Jurel in a post on X for his match-defining innings in the fourth Test against England while calling out the media for no hype around him. But, upon receiving fan criticism, the 45-year-old issued a clarification post, speaking about how he is not trying to “degrade or demean anyone,” wanting to see hype for everyone.

In a video doing rounds on social media, the Indian skipper could be heard saying, “Aye bhai, zyada hero nahi banne ka.” 

Pakistan’s Haris Rauf ruled out of PSL due to shoulder injury

The Pakistan fast bowler, Haris Rauf, has been ruled out of the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 season after sustaining a shoulder dislocation, which could rule him out of action for four to six weeks. The 30-year-old sustained the injury while taking a catch for Lahore Qalandars against Karachi Kings at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

New fraud in India: Deepak Chahar slams online delivery scam

Deepak Chahar took to social media and expressed his concerns regarding a new fraud on Zomato.  Chahar posted a tweet calling out a new fraud where he revealed he never received his order despite Zomato showing that the delivery was complete. He further expressed concerns regarding this scam and asked the public to tag Zomato to raise their problems.

Michael Vaughan slams DRS technology; deletes post later

Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan, on Day 3 of the ongoing fourth Test between India and England in Ranchi, slammed the DRS technology after Joe Root’s dismissal. “That looked a shocker for the technology .. more than half the ball was outside leg stump yet it came up Red!!!!!!! Hawkeye is having a average series,” his tweet read, which he deleted later.

He’s the next MS Dhoni in the making: Sunil Gavaskar

Former India cricketer and a legend, Sunil Gavaskar also heaped praise on Dhruv Jurel, calling him the next MS Dhoni. Gavaskar, who is part of commentary panel in the ongoing Test match in Ranchi, said, “Watching the presence of mind of Dhruv Jurel makes me think he’s the next MS Dhoni in the making”.

Dhruv Jurel reached his maiden Test half-century in the 90th over in Ranchi. Soon after his fifty, he brought up a salute celebration, paying tribute to his father, Nem Chand Jurel, who served as a Havaldar in Kargil war. The Indian keeper’s salute was a symbol of gratitude and respect for his father’s sacrifice and dedication.   

W.Hasaranga receives two-match suspension; R. Gurbaz fined

Sri Lanka’s T20I captain Wanindu Hasaranga has been suspended for two international matches after his accumulated demerit points reached five within a 24-month period following his latest breach of the ICC Code of Conduct. Afghanistan player Rahmanullah Gurbaz has also been fined 15 per cent of his match fee for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct.

Jack Leach to undergo knee surgery following injury during India Tests

England left-arm spinner, Jack Leach is set to undergo surgery following the injury he sustained in the first Test in Hyderabad.  Leach sustained the injury when he banged his left knee while diving near the boundary ropes. “I am going to have an operation to get the rest of the swelling out because it’s not budging,” he said on BBC Radio 5 Live.
