With the ODI World Cup 2023 reaching its penultimate stage, South Africa knocked out Afghanistan after handing them a defeat by five wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday, November 10. With this, New Zealand have more or less confirmed their place in the semifinals, set to face India in a rematch of the 2019 CWC semifinals. Apart from this, the ICC board suspended the Sri Lanka Cricket with immediate effect owing to excessive government interference.

Australia will take on Bangladesh in the 43rd match of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. The Aussies have qualified trough to the semifinals of the CWC 2023 with six straight wins, while the Bangla Tigers were the first team to be officially eliminated from the flagship tournament. Australia have had the better of Bangladesh in limited ODI matches played between the two sides, which is why they will be fancying their chances of continuing the trend.
ICC ODI World Cup 2023: England vs Pakistan
England will compete against Pakistan in 44th match of the ODI World Cup at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The English registered their second win of the CWC 2023 to keep their hopes for the spot in ICC Champions Trophy 2025 alive, while the Men in Green got the better of New Zealand via DLS method to stay in the hunt of a semifinal spot. Notably, Pakistan haven’t had the best of time in the bilateral series, although they beat the Three Lon in the last edition of the quadrennial tournament.

Women’s Big Bash League 2023
Melbourne Renegade vs Perth Scorchers: The 34th match of the WBBL 2023 is scheduled to be played between the Melbourne Renegades and the Perth Scorchers on Saturday at the Junction Oval in Melbourne. In the WBBL standings, the Hayley Matthews-led side are reeling at the bottom of the table with only two points, whereas the Sophie Devin’s Scorchers are comfortably sitting at the third place with 10 points.
Brisbane Heat vs Adelaide Strikers: The 35th match of the WBBL 2023 will see Brisbane Heat lock horns with Adelaide Strikers at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay at 1:40 PM (IST). While the Jess Jonassen-led Heat are fourth in the standing with 10 points, Tahila McGrath’s Strikers are evenly placed at second place with 12 points, just one less than the table topper in Sydney Thunder.

Rassie van der Dussen’s unbeaten 76 help South Africa beat Afghanistan by five wickets
South Africa successfully chased down a modest target of 245 runs with 15 balls to be spared in Match 42 of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. While Quinton de Kock added crucial 41 runs, van der Dussen’s 76* off 95 deliveries and Phehlukwayo’s unbeaten 39 took the game away from the Afghans, knocking them out of the semifinal races officially. The Proteas will now take on Australia in one of the semifinals of the CWC 2023.

ICC suspends Sri Lanka Cricket with immediate effect
The ICC Board has suspended Sri Lanka Cricket's membership of ICC with immediate effect. The ICC Board determined that Sri Lanka Cricket is in serious breach of its obligations as a Member, in particular, the requirement to manage its affairs autonomously and ensure that there is no government interference in the governance, regulation and/or administration of cricket in Sri Lanka.

Punjab all-rounder, Gurkeerat Mann on November 10 announced retirement from all form of the game. The Indian cricketer, who has played three ODIs for the Men in Blue, took to Instagram to make this announcement. “Today marks the end of an incredible cricketing journey for me. It has been an honour and a privilege to represent India”, he wrote in an Instagram post.

New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra claimed his first ICC Men’s Player of the Month award thanks to a series of memorable knocks in the group stages of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India, while the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for October was awarded to Hayley Matthews, who led from the front with scintillating individual performances in West Indies’ short format battles in Australia.
Hardik Pandya to miss T20I series vs Australia: Reports
As per recent reports, Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya will miss the upcoming five-match T20I series after being ruled out of the ongoing CWC. Notably, Pandya sustained an ankle injury during India's game against Bangladesh, thereafter, missing the remaining games. "There is some time before Hardik can be declared fit and available for selection," a BCCI source informed PTI.
