Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are squaring off against each other in the sixth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) getting playing at the Barsapara Stadium. Batting first after losing the toss, RR started ferociously. Within eight overs, the Pink Army accumulated 67 runs at a loss of two wickets. Their batting unit collapsed after Riyan Parag’s scalp. With the fall of wickets in regular intervals, Rajasthan could post only 151/9 in their 20 overs. Except for Yashasvi Jaiswal, Parag, and Dhruv Jurel, all mainstay batters failed to score in double digit.

Jaiswal and Parag stitched a 34-run stand off 24 balls. Parag was looking gruesome with his bat as he amassed quick 25 runs off 15 balls. However, after Parag’s fall, RR batters failed to handle KKR bowlers and accumulated an average score on the board. Rajasthan’s performance irked their fans as some took to X to criticise the RR team management for the flop batting show. An X user named Hemendra Meena wrote, “What happened to #RR management, they are making really poor decisions. It doesn’t make any sense of Riyan parag batting before the Nitish Rana and Dhruv Jurel. They are wasting both the batter because of unnecessary shuffling #RRvsKKR #KKRvsRR.”

KKR will look to chase down the total comfortably to bag their maiden IPL 2025 win

Following RR’s miserable batting show, KKR batters will now look to be disciplined to hand their team the first win of the competition. In Sunil Narine’s absence, former England all-rounder Moeen Ali did an exceptional job for Kolkata as he clinched 2/23 figures in his four-over spell.

As of writing Kolkata’s chase has started with the defending champions at a score of 6/0 in 1.3 overs. Moeen Ali has kicked off the innings for the Knight Riders, along with Quinton de Kock. Ali’s compatriot Jofra Archer opened the bowling for the Men in Pink and gave away only two runs.
