Among those were Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, former cricketer Yuvraj Singh, AB de Villiers, and many more. While Tendulkar wished for him to keep winning hearts, Singh said that he was destined for greatness.

The 50-year-old tweeted, “Virat, may you keep winning hearts with your passion and performances. Wishing you a great year ahead and a very happy birthday.” Singh posted a few pictures with the birthday boy and wrote, “When you joined the team as a youngster who was eager for opportunities and hungry to perform, it was clear to everyone that you were destined for greatness. You've not only made a mark for yourself but have also inspired countless others to strive for excellence.”

Not only this, but two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu was among those who wished the cricket great. Sindhu hailed Kohli as her teacher and wrote, “Wishing the happiest of birthdays to one sportsman who has truly been a teacher to me on how to carry yourself when times are tough. Thanks VK for setting the benchmark as a senior in Indian sport. I try to carry the same blend of calmness and aggression in my sport.”

In addition, former India opener Virender Sehwag wished him the best on his birthday and said that century runs in his veins like haemoglobin. Sehwag took to Twitter and wrote, “Century haemoglobin ki tarah inki ragon mein daudti hai. A young guy with dreams in his eyes, with his work-ethics, passion, hardwork and talent has ruled the game. Ups and downs yes but what has remained constant is his intensity and hunger. Best wishes.”

Other than them former South Africa cricketer Ab de Villiers posted a video wishing his ‘brother’ a happy birthday. A special wish came for the former Indian skipper from his teammates through a video posted by ICC. In the video, youngster Shubman Gill led the wishes and said, “His hunger and his passion for the game are unparalleled. I have not seen anyone who is as hungry and as passionate as him.”

Notably, Kohli was a part of India’s playing XI against South Africa on November 5.
