Mannat Kashyap, who was included in the squad for the three-match ODI series against the Australian women's team, finally got to play her first game for India in 2024 during the ongoing third ODI match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The 20-year-old player initially was part of the inaugural Women's U-19 T20 World Cup winning team in 2023 where she was the second-highest wicket-taker (9) for the Indian team only behind Parshavi Chopra.
Mannat Kashyap also played a crucial role in winning the ACC Women's Emerging Teams Cup where she picked 5 wickets from two games which includes her 3/20 against Bangladesh in the final game to defend a small total of 127 runs in 20 overs.
Mannat Kashyap initially came into the limelight in December 2022 when she ran out the non-striker batter Jenna Evans in the first T20I match while touring the South Africa U-19 team but later Indian team withdrew that appeal and went on to win that game also convincingly by 54 runs.
Mannat Kashyap was bought by Gujarat Giants for a price of 10 Lakhs in the WPL 2024 auction after seeing her impressive performance in the U-19 Women's T20 World Cup 2023 and ACC Women's Emerging Teams Cup 2023.
Mannat Kashyap also got her maiden T20I call-up for the recently concluded three-match T20I series against England in December 2023 but didn't get a match to play in that series.
Mannat Kashyap in her debut match for India ended up bowling only 3 overs against the Australian women's team in the third ODI match at Wankhede Stadium today.
