Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has rarely expressed himself, and it was one of the reasons not many knew about his personal life. However, his life story came in front of everyone with his biopic ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’. The film came out in 2016, and it was when fans got to know their hero closely. Starring Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead role, the movie introduced fans to the Dhoni family. While the movie talked about everyone, there was one family person the movie makers ignored. He is none other than MS Dhoni’s brother Narendra Singh Dhoni.

Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the movie didn’t show MS Dhoni’s brother, and sent a message that the Chennai Super Kings skipper has only one sibling, his sister Jayanti Gupta (starred by Bhumika Chawla in the biopic). However, it is only half truth, as everyone’s ‘Mahi’ has an elder brother who didn't have even one mention in the movie. His brother, Narendra Singh Dhoni is a politician from the Samajwadi Party since 2013, who lives a secluded life in Ranchi and his village in Uttarakhand.
As fans discovered the truth about his brother, there were speculations whether Dhoni ignored him deliberately. However, there is no definitive answer to this question as nobody knows what the real story is, but fans came across an old post on Narendra’s Facebook post with some serious cringe-worthy shayari.
While Dhoni has never talked about his brother, Narendra in an old interview with The Telegraph opened up on not being a part of the biopic. He said, "I may be non-existent in the movie because I don’t have many contributions in Mahi’s life be it during his childhood, his struggle as a young man, or after he became MSD for the world. The film is about Mahi, not his family.”
Narendra, aged 52, is said to be on good terms with his younger brother. He joined the Samajwadi Party in 2013, and before that he was a part of BJP. He has two children, and lives with his family in Ranchi. The elder Dhoni brother prefers to live the life of a common man and is often visited by his parents, Pan Singh Dhoni and Devaki Dhoni.
