On Monday, September 9, the Football Association (FA) confirmed that captain Harry Kane will be playing in England’s second UEFA Nations League 2024-25 clash versus Finland at the Wembley Stadium in London tomorrow night. With that, Harry Kane will become the 10th Englishman to earn 100th caps for the national team, finding his name in the illustrious list headed by Peter Shilton with 125 caps in total, along with receiving a golden cap for his great accomplishment in the world of football.
Notably, Harry Kane, who has 66 goals to his name for England already will become the first player to earn 100 caps for his country since Wayne Rooney, who achieved this feat in the year 2014. Some of the other big names to have earned more than 100 caps for England in football are David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Bobby Moore, Ashley Cole, Sir Bobby Charlton, Frank Lampard, Frank Lampard, and Billy Wright.
Harry Kane has made 83 competitive appearances for England; the most among all English men's players
During a practice session earlier this morning, Harry Kane, who was spotted wearing golden boots, will be captaining England for the 73rd time against Finland on Tuesday, September 11. After making his international debut in 2015, he has been a part of 28 matches in major finals along with 83 competitive matches for England, the most among all the men’s national team players.
In the opening match of the UEFA Nations League 2024-25, England defeated Ireland 2-0 at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. Declan Rice, who had played international football for Ireland before switching to England, scored the opening goal for the visitors in the 11th minute before Jack Grealish made it 2-0 in the 26th minute.
