Nitish Rana, the vice-captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders, has reportedly rejoined the squad on Tuesday, April 9, after fracturing his finger in the first match of the IPL 2024 season against Sunrisers Hyderabad last month. With that, the 30-year-old is likely to play the upcoming match for Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday, April 14, at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
In the IPL 2024 opener for Kolkata Knight Riders, Nitish Rana scored nine runs in 11 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad. But, during their fielding innings, he had injured his hand before leaving the field at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Since then, Nitish Rana hasn’t been named in the playing XI for the next three matches for Kolkata Knight Riders. Furthermore, there was no official explanation given regarding the absence of the left-handed batter by the KKR team management.
But now, on the condition of anonymity, the sources have confirmed to Khel Now about the latest development in regards to the Nitish Rana situation. “Nitish Rana had fractured his finger. He joined KKR camp in Kolkata yesterday, 9th April,” stated their report.
Moreover, the absence of Nitish Rana hasn’t been felt in the Kolkata Knight Riders squad in the IPL 2024 thus far, in terms of results. They have won three out of their first four matches in the franchise T20 tournament, scoring big totals regularly at both home and away conditions against different bowling lineups.
