India are all set to take in Qatar in 2nd fixture of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers on November 21, Tuesday. The match is slated to take place at the Kalinga Stadium in Odisha. The home team registered a 1-0 victory against Kuwait in their last fixture played on November 16, Thursday. While the team is already looking forward to registering a marvellous win over the Asian Champions, their star attacker Manvir Singh is doubtful of playing the match.
Singh missed the practice session held earlier on Monday as reported by KhelNow. While the actual reason for Singh's absence is unknown, it is suspected that the player is down with sickness. The official statement is awaited, but if the reports are true, then it can be said that India will face a tough challenge against their rivals in the next match.
As per reports by Hindustan Times, in the absence of Manvir, coach Stimac could switch to 4-3-3. Anirudh Thapa, Suresh Wangjam, and Lalengmawia Ralte could then form the midfield. Speaking of their last fixture, Singh scored the only goal in the 75th minute of the game, which guaranteed the Men in Blue their victory against the Asian football giants.
The 28-year-old is known for his great footwork, and his exceptional display of skills in the Mohun Bagan as well as other assignments with the national team has earned him his much-deserved name. In four games for his club, the winger scored two goals along with two assists.
