According to reports by Dainik Jagran, the first half of the WPL will be played in Bengaluru, while the other half will be played in Delhi, which includes the knockout matches as well. Hosting the cricketing tournament in two different cities will allow pitches to stay afresh for the WPL 2024. If reports are to be believed, the tournament will kick off on March 22.

The inaugural season of the tournament was hosted in 2023, and it was played only in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Earlier after the WPL 2024 auction, BCCI Chief Jay Shah had said that the forthcoming tournament will be hosted in one state. Shah cited logistical challenges reason behind conducting the tournament in only one state. He said, “The tournament will start in February, and in terms of the venues, we will hold it in one state. For us, logistics is very important for us this time around. Next time, we will figure it out.”

As per the latest developments, the BCCI decided that two venues are a better option. However, with one big venue in Bengaluru (M Chinnaswamy Stadium) as well as Delhi (Arun Jaitley Stadium), organisers will have to conduct matches consecutively across these venues. So far in the Indian T20 leagues, neither the IPL nor the WPL has had consecutive matches at the same venue for more than two days.
