Former India cricketer Munaf Patel came with a savage reply to shut former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar over his post featuring Sachin Tendulkar. The Pakistani speedster shared the post on his social media channels on the eve of the mouth-watering India versus Pakistan World Cup 2023 clash on October 14, Saturday. Akhtar posted a still from an Asian Test Championship match, where he dismissed India icons Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid on consecutive deliveries.
Apart from his spell, Pakistan rode on Saeed Anwar’s 188-run knock to clinch a 46-run win over their neighbouring counterparts. Akhtar shared a photo where he could be seen dismissing Tendulkar, and accompanied it with caption, “Kal agar asa kuch kerna hai, toh #ThandRakh”, which translates to “Keep calm if you want to do something like this tomorrow.”
While the post didn’t go well with Indians as Patel didn’t hold himself back and brutally trolled the ex-Pakistani cricketer in his own way. The 40-year-old posted a picture of the Indian legend from the 2003 World Cup, where Tendulkar played his famous uppercut to Akhtar, which landed among the spectators. Patel captioned the post, “Yaad dilaon kya”, which translated to “Should I remind you”.
In that match, Tendulkar played a brilliant knock of 75-baller 98, which helped India record a win. Speaking of the ICC ODI World cup 2023 clash, this was for the first time in seven years that the neighbours locked horns on Indian soil.
